USGA rules will govern all play, except where local course and/or club rules prevail, as determined by the Rules Committee. Course designated rules (including Winter/Summer Rules) will be in effect. All decisions by the Rules Committee are final. If a change in course conditions occurs, the Tournament Director shall establish the playing rules in effect and notify the players. If the Tournament Director is not available, an available officer shall be called upon to make a decision.
The Handicap Chairman will manage all club tournament scores using the GHIN system. All members are responsible for adjusting their scores for handicap purposes and posting all scores of rounds played outside Club competitions.
Members must compete in at least five (5) tournaments to qualify for the Club Championship. Mid-season adjustments may be made in case of cancelled tournaments. The Board will determine the qualifying status of new members with less than seven tournaments played.
All members commit to participating in tournaments on their playing schedule. If you cannot fulfill your commitment, you must cancel 14 days preceding the tournament. Any cancellations after that deadline will constitute a $5 fine. For prepaid outings/tournaments, you must cancel prior to the prepay due date to avoid forfeiture of your prepaid green fees. Any no-show for an event will be assessed a $10 fine. Your advanced playing schedule may be disregarded if you have two or more no-shows. Continuous no-shows and late cancellations can jeopardize your future acceptance of the Club.
The Board will set the tee-times and foursomes. Changes will be made only for emergencies. The Tournament Director will attempt to even out the tee-time positions among the club members. However, if any club member consistently holds up play, he/she will be scheduled at the end of the next tournament. Any member who feels he/she is being unfairly treated can contact the Board.
A few days prior to each tournament each member will receive a pairing sheet and details of the upcoming event. The first person listed in each foursome is the Official Scorekeeper for their foursome, and must turn the scorecard in upon completion of the round, with all scoring completed and necessary equitable stroke control adjustments made. Scorecard must be signed and attested. The third person listed in each foursome will have the responsibility of being the back-up scorekeeper. The second and fourth players listed are responsible for enforcing the slow play rule. As a rule of thumb, groups should never be more than half a hole behind. If so, all players should play ready golf until the gap is closed. All players are ultimately responsible for speeding up play and should report continual slow play to the Board.
